Act 4

Venue: School of Biological Sciences, NTU
Performers: BMS Year 3s and myself.

Brainstorming

Smile

With sexy lips

And a stiched up mouth

Lots of fun involved

Teardrops.

Finale

Tickled

Similarities

Admiring their masterpiece.

Reflections:
The final group created the most enjoyable experience out of the four. They were willing to decorate the masks, have fun and being able to capture their moment of joy seemed like a performance to me.

Act 3
Venue: NTU North Spine
Performers: 2 NTU girls and myself

Handing out the masks

Asking if they'd like to write or draw anything on the mask

Putting on the masks

Walking to Lee Wee Nam Library

Taking a secret path the Lee Wee Nam,
a route I never knew.

Waiting for the arrival of the lift

Into the lift we go

And here we are again.

Reflections:
This time round, the girls were more sporting though they did not want to go through the hassle of decorating their masks. And they asked many questions pertaining to my concept and purpose. Seems like my group of audience is getting better at this.

Act 2
Venue: NTU North Spine
Performers: 2 exchange students & myself

Trying to persuade them to take part in my 'act'

Reflections:
I approached them with a mindset thinking that exchange students would be more open to my idea and that they'll be more willing to go along with my 'social responsibility act'. Instead, they rejected my request and said they were busy. When we left however, they continued standing there and engaged in their chit chat.

Act 1
Venue: NTU North Spine
Performers: 2 NTU boys & myself

Preparing for my mask with a message

Getting ready to start the adventure around school

And here we go.

Approaching a student

Handing out masks

Putting their masks on

And off to the library

Video Recording of the 1st Adventure

Reflections:
I myself took a while to warm up to the student population at the beginning. Though the student I approached was some what willing to do me a favour, I could sense some form of resentment from his friend who kept looking away from the camera and was very conscious of his surrounding environment.

The Concept

With the recent pandemic of H1N1 in mind,
As well as the diarrhoea epidemic in the last few weeks,
This gave a headstart to the concept of my project.

Not only did I want the public to be aware of their hygiene habits,
I wanted to show them my perspective of being socially responsible,
As well as allow them to play a role in my act of being socially responsible.

And thus, I've decided to have a sort of game play.
Let's see how I'll perform and how my audience performs for me instead.

Enjoy!
